Faults and Troubleshooting Methods

The main faults, their causes, and remedies during the operation of a jaw crusher are shown in Table 2-8.

1) Adjust the tightness of the bearing shell using shims;
2) Increase oil quantity, clean oil grooves and oil lines, replace lubricating oil;
3) Check if the shaft is installed correctly and scrape the bearing
(2) Water temperature discharged from the cooler exceeds 45°CInsufficient cooling water; cooling system dirtySupply water to the cooling system; clean the cooling system
(3) Oil flow indicator shows no oil flow1) Oil pump faulty;
2) Oil cold;
3) Valve closed too tightly
1) Repair or replace the oil pump;
2) Heat the oil;
3) Check whether the valve is open
(4) Oil pressure in the supply system increases, with a corresponding rise in bearing and return oil temperaturesOil pipe or oil grooves in crusher parts are blockedStop the crusher; clean the oil pipe and oil grooves in crusher parts
(5) Water enters the oil supply system1) Cooling water pressure in the filter-cooler is higher than the oil pressure in the supply system;

1) Cooling water pressure should be 0.05 MPa lower than the oil pressure in the supply system;
2) Check and repair the leak
(6) Crushing plates vibrate, producing metallic impact soundsJaw plate liners looseStop the crusher; check the liner fixing; use a hammer to drive the fixing wedges on the side wall until fully seated, then tighten the fixing screws on the wedges and liners, or replace the support strips of the movable jaw plate
(7) Impact sound from the toggle plate support seat1) Insufficient spring tension or spring broken; excessive wear of the support seat;
2) Support seat loose
1) Stop the crusher; adjust spring compression; replace the spring or support seat;
2) Tighten the support seat
(8) Impact sound from the connecting rod headEccentric shaft bearing liner wornRescrape the bearing liner or replace with a new one
(9) Crushed product size increasesSignificant wear on the lower part of the linersTurn the liners 180° or adjust the discharge opening
(10) After a loud cracking sound, the swing jaw stops swinging, the flywheel continues to rotate, the connecting rod moves back and forth, and the pull rod spring relaxes1) Toggle plate broken due to non-crushable metal, etc., falling into the crusher;
2) Connecting rod broken
1) Replace the toggle plate;
2) Repair the connecting rod
