The installation requirements for the flotation machine are as follows:
(1) The installation of the flotation machine and the assembly of the tanks must meet the process configuration requirements of the mineral processing plant.
(2) The clearance between the rotor and stator of the flotation machine’s agitation mechanism shall comply with the provisions of the design documents.
(3) The permissible deviations and inspection methods for the installation of the flotation machine shall comply with the provisions of Table 12-20.
Table 12-20 Permissible deviations for installation of flotation machine
| Item No. | Item | Permissible deviation | Unit | Inspection method |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Longitudinal and transverse centerline | 3.0 | mm | Pull line and measure with ruler |
| 2 | Elevation | ±5.0 | mm | Steel ruler or level gauge |
| 3 | Longitudinal and transverse levelness | 0.3/1000 | — | Level gauge measured on the vertical shaft pulley |
| 4 | Height difference of overflow weir | ≤5 | mm | Level gauge measurement |
| 5 | Relative position difference after connecting all tanks | ±5.0 | mm | Ruler measurement |
| 6 | Parallelism between scraper shaft and overflow weir | 3.0 | mm | Ruler measurement |
| 7 | Coaxiality of bearings on scraper shaft | 2.0 | mm | Pull line and measure with ruler |
12.7.2 Trial operation of flotation machine
The trial operation of the flotation machine shall comply with the following provisions:
(1) Fill the tank with clean water and run continuously for not less than 2 hours. The rotation shall be flexible without jamming or interference.
(2) The temperature of rolling bearings shall not exceed 80 °C.
(3) The belt drive shall not exhibit edge wear or slipping.
(4) The chain drive shall not exhibit jamming or abnormal noise.
(5) The gear drive shall not exhibit abnormal noise or vibration.
(6) No fasteners or connecting parts shall become loose.
Only after the above trial operation provisions are met without any problems may the slurry be fed for load trial operation.
