Introduction to Small Raymond Mill
The KX small Raymond mill is a compact equipment designed by Kenex Mining Machinery to meet small-scale (≤1000 kg/h) grinding requirements. It features two grinding rollers and a single cyclone design (with optional double cyclone collector). The mill has a simple structure, a small footprint, and is easy to install and disassemble. A split-type base is available depending on the actual site conditions. With an economical price, it is mainly used for small-scale powder processing and projects with limited space.
Features and Advantages of Small Raymond Mill
Process Flow of Small Raymond Mill
Raw Material → Crusher → Feeder → Small Raymond Mill → Single Cyclone Collector → Pulse Bag Filter → Finished Packaging
1. Raw Material Processing
A small crusher is typically used to crush the raw material to a particle size of ≤15 mm, reducing the load on the downstream grinding equipment. The crushed material is then fed into the small Raymond mill by a feeder. Due to the compact size of the equipment, no elevator is required for vertical conveying.
2. Grinding and Classification
The material enters the grinding zone and is ground between the grinding rollers and the grinding ring. The classification system uses an air separation process. Qualified fine powder rises with the airflow, passes through the top-mounted classifier, and enters the single cyclone collector. Unqualified coarse powder falls back into the grinding zone by gravity for re-grinding, forming a closed-circuit
3. Collection and Dust Removal
The collection system consists of a single cyclone collector and a pulse bag filter. The single cyclone collects the majority (80–95%) of the finished fine powder. The pulse bag filter captures the remaining dust and purifies the exhaust gas. The cleaned gas is discharged through the fan.

Small Raymond Mill – Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does the small Raymond mill adopt a single cyclone design?
A: The single cyclone collector design is adopted because for powder production with a capacity ≤1000 kg/h, a single cyclone collector can handle the task efficiently without the need for a complex double-cyclone splitting structure. Moreover, a single cyclone has a smaller footprint and lower cost, making it more suitable for small-scale processing and projects with limited space.
Q: When should the small Raymond mill use a double-cyclone design?
A: The double-cyclone collector design is used for processing certain special materials with high added value. For example, in the field of pharmaceutical excipients, the double-cyclone design increases the collection efficiency of the Raymond mill to over 99%.
Q: Does the split-type base of the small Raymond mill operate smoothly?
A: Compared to an integrated base, the split-type base has slightly lower vibration resistance. However, for small-scale grinding projects, this design is reasonable. It reduces investment cost and footprint while still ensuring smooth operation of the small Raymond mill.
